The Chamber of Commerce of Badajoz has hosted the Kick-Off meeting of the Silver Tourism project, carried out from 9th to 10th December at the facilities of the Scientific and Technological Park of Extremadura.
During two days, experts in tourism development of France, Slovenia, Romania and Hungary have laid the methodological basis for the development of an expert professional profile in "Silver" tourism, identifying skills that allow train enterprises and employees for developing innovative products and services in areas related to tourism, allowing seize the opportunities created by the growing market of seniors (over 55 years) in the European tourism market.
This Strategic Partnership involves a wide range of actors: a regional development agency (ADR Nord-Est), an institute for tourism research (Zavod Novi Turizem), a Business School specialized in certification of education quality (Trusted Business Partners), an European association that involves dozens of agencies and administrations related to rural areas (Euromontana), and FUNDECYT - Scienctific and Technological Park of Extremadura, which has significant experience in the fields of Silver Economy (Silver Sudoe, Social Skills for Silver Economy, SmartCare) and tourism (Route 2.0, Dante, Ecotour).
Silver Tourism is a project funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus + programme. During two years, the European entities that make up this strategic alliance will work to develop training content and open courses that will train European people interested in this subject.
